Classic Charts
Classic Charts Classic Charts ran as a musical time machine — revisiting a different chart from a specific week in history with each episode. From forgotten floor-fillers to enduring number ones, the show offered a fascinating look at what people were really listening to in decades past. Though the series has now wrapped, it remains a favourite for its sharp blend of nostalgia, context, and celebration of pop history.

Sensational 60’s
Sensational 60s Though no longer on air, Sensational 60s remains a standout in Verso’s radio archive — a show that brought the golden era of music roaring back to life. With its mix of British Invasion hits, Motown greats, psychedelic classics, and cultural deep cuts, it captured the energy and evolution of a decade that redefined popular music. A nostalgic, expertly curated tribute to one of music’s most revolutionary periods.

Sundays
Verso’s Sunday Roast Two hours. One theme. Endless possibilities.
Each week, Verso serves up a themed music show to soundtrack your Sunday — the perfect companion to your late morning coffee or early afternoon wind-down. With every show built around a carefully chosen theme, expect a deep dive into iconic genres, nostalgic throwbacks, and bold discoveries you didn’t know you needed.
From the timeless classics to hidden gems, from influential pioneers to modern game-changers, this isn’t just background music — it’s curated listening with purpose. Verso’s Sunday Brunch is your invitation to slow down, tune in, and reconnect with the music that moves you.
All The Shows
Before it became Verso’s Sunday Roast, the show was known simply as The Specials — same great format, just under a different name. And before that, it all began with Now That’s What I Call a Number One — a celebration of chart-topping hits from both sides of the Atlantic, drawing heavily from Verso’s extensive Now collection.
What started as a tribute to iconic number ones has grown into a broader, more eclectic listening experience — but the heart of the show remains the same: great music, thoughtfully curated.
2025 saw the3 end of Sunday Specials and the start of Verso’s Sunday Roast while 2024 and 2023 feature Sunday Specials and Now… whilst 2022 was the start of Now that’s What I Call a Number One.

Get ready for an electrifying three-hour broadcast bursting with top-tier music, sharp chat, and standout features that keep listeners coming back week after week. Commentary, insight, and the stories behind the sounds you love.
The Battles – Iconic UK bands/solo stars clash geographically with global stars in a musical showdown that sparks debate and nostalgia.
Signature Segments – Three from One, Cover vs. Original, 50/40/30, and a rotating lineup of fresh, thought-provoking musical features.
Want to Join Verso on Air? – Verso is always on the lookout for passionate guests. Whether you’re a music lover, charity worker, sports club member, or just have something to say, hit the Contact button and step into the spotlight.
A year with fewer guests but no shortage of great music, features, and familiar chaos. I kicked things off with The Story of Britpop, before diving into the next instalment of The Battles — this time spotlighting UK male solo stars.
Guests included Mr Felixstowe Rugby Club himself, Rob Brewster, and Gemma, who joined me twice — first to talk about her swimming and running challenges, and later to debrief after the Oasis concert we went to. A Felixstowe local now based in Australia, Keiran Real, also dropped by during a trip home.
A new sponsor joined the fold — Astral Global Logistics (AGL) — who not only supported The Saturday Show but went on to sponsor the entire station.
I welcomed Stuart and Jack Ainsley from Felixstowe & Walton Football Club, local singer-songwriter Andy Bloomfield, and Christiane from AGL, who shared the company’s own playlist on air. Steve Porter made his now-traditional Carnival visit, while Bryn from AGL came in with a playlist so long it spilled over into my Sunday Roast show.

Oasis dominated much of the year, thanks to their heavily covered reunion shows, while special episodes were dedicated to my niece Jessica and the one and only Paul McCartney.
The year closed with the second appearance of my sister Tamara, a first visit from local author Julie Missen, and another from Uncle Chris. Oh, and of course, a birthday special for my sister Tracie, who turned 60 — rounding off another lively, unpredictable, and thoroughly enjoyable year of The Saturday Show with Verso.

2025 Retrospective
Show 49 | 27 December 2025
The first full year of The Saturday Show with Verso saw plenty of chaos, guests, and good music — exactly as it should.
I wrapped up the first ever Battles, with UK bands going head-to-head all the way to the semi-finals and final (no spoilers on who took the crown). Jigsaw Recruitment were the official sponsors — though, in true radio fashion, the cheque’s still in the post!
Over the months, a brilliant mix of guests dropped by:
Coxy, ever-reliable and always up for a laugh.
Local author Iain Maitland, who brought his trademark insight.
Edie and Ellie, two fearless work-experience students who actually took over the show one week and made me their guest.
Another local writer, Jeanette Hewitt for her second appearance, plus Shannon, the local barmaid who shaved her hair off for charity (not on the show).
I also welcomed future Felixstowe Radio presenters Jimmy, Andy, and Sharon, as well as quiz pal and fundraiser extraordinaire, Tim Kenny and also Steve Porter from Felixstowe Carnival.
A special edition was dedicated to my gigging pals Neil and Hammy, with guest spots from Zoe Hunter, June Cowles, Kirstie Smith, Janine Edwards, Prockie, and Gail Bosley from Felixstowe Rugby Club.
Then came Battle #2, this time opening the stage to international bands — bigger, louder, and even more unpredictable.
I had Wiggy in the studio, and my mate Gemma made her debut alongside her Seascapes crew, fresh from swimming around Jersey.
As always, I closed out the year with the traditional rundown of the most-played songs and artists — a fitting sign-off to a packed and memorable first year of The Saturday Show with Verso.
