The Home Run was where it all began.
Long before The Saturday Show, Verso’s Sunday Roast and the growing collection of archive programmes, there was a two-hour music show designed to soundtrack the journey home.
Originally broadcast on Thursdays before moving to Tuesdays, The Home Run quickly became a place for great music, themed playlists, local guests and the occasional experiment.
Looking back now, those early shows were very much a presenter learning the craft in real time. Some ideas worked brilliantly. Others perhaps deserved to remain buried in the archives.
But every programme helped build confidence behind the microphone and shape the style that would later become familiar across other Verso Media shows.
