Speed was a comic that was launched on 23rd February 1980 and ran for 31 issues until 25th October 1980. It was then merged with the long-running sports-themed comic Tiger. Speed featured an adventure theme with a variety of strips including Journey to the Stars by Ron Turner, Baker’s Half Dozen by Mike Western, Topps on Two Wheels, and the most successful series, Death Wish. Death Wish, about a disfigured stuntman who takes dangerous risks, outlasted both Speed and Tiger, continuing in the pages of Eagle after Tiger folded in March 1985. Speed Annuals were also published in 1981 and 1982.
