Alec Shaw, the beloved star striker for Rampton City, finds his life turned upside down when journalist Grice enters the scene. Grice threatens to expose scandalous photographs of Alec’s father, Tom, a retired player who once took bribes. Fearing for his father’s reputation, Alec reluctantly agrees to throw games in exchange for Grice’s silence.
