Kevin “Mighty” Mouse made his debut in the Roy of the Rovers comic in June 1979 as a remarkable football player despite his short stature, overweight appearance, and thick glasses. He juggled his successful career in the First Division with his studies as a medical student at St Victor’s Hospital, where he faced challenges from strict matron “Mad Annie” and grumpy Dr Mender. Mouse’s exceptional skills on the field set him apart from his teammates in both Tottenford Rovers and the hospital football team.

Upon the cancellation of Tiger, Hot Shot Hamish moved over to Roy of the Rovers and joined forces Mighty Mouse. The combined strip, initially titled Hot Shot Hamish and Mighty Mouse (later simplified to Hamish and Mouse), depicted how the two footballers met, formed a friendship, and eventually became teammates.

This combined strip ran from 1985 to May 1990, resumed in July 1990, and continued until January 1993, shortly before the cancellation of Roy of the Rovers.
