The Hard Man had a nine-year run. Rising star Bobby Williams replaced Johnny Dexter on the team during a pre-season tour, prompting Johnny to request a transfer upon his return for training. Surprisingly, despite being a former England international, the only offer Johnny received was from the struggling club Burnside Athletic. The series ran from August 17, 1985, to August 16, 1986.
