Champ, a weekly comic published by DC Thomson, ran from 1984 to 1985. One of its popular strips, entitled “We Are United”, showcased iconic characters from various DC Thomson publications, such as Charlie “Iron” Barr from Spike and ‘Limp-Along’ Leslie. Spike was incorporated into Champ in May 1984, and later in October 1985, Champ merged into Victor.
